This customer is really glad they called us instead of replacing their soapstone counters!
We recently got a call from a client in Reisterstown, Maryland who was in need of a complete overhaul of their soapstone kitchen counters. Kitchens, being one of the most high traffic areas in a home, see a lot of general wear and tear.
Soapstone is natural stone material that has been used for centuries in countertops. It’s milky appearance gives it a rustic feel when compared with the urbane and elegant look of granite or slate. Many homeowners love the natural charm of soapstone.
In general, stone restoration is the process of restoring worn stone to the state in which it was installed. This involves the removal of scratches and/or damage from the surface of the stone by means of mechanical abrasion, or diamond grinding, and following with a coat of sealant where it’s necessary.
This soapstone counter received our four step polishing process using 120, 220, 400, and 800 grit diamond pads to remove any damage or grit that had been ground in.
Natural stone really elevates the interior of a home, and when looking for a company to complete your stone restoration project, you want to be sure to choose a team that knows what they’re doing. Qualified restoration technicians will be sure to take the proper steps to protect the surfaces surrounding the stone while the restoration is in process. Our stone restoration service is locally owned and managed, trained in some of the finest old-world stone restoration techniques and guarantee our best work the first time around.
