Recently Zoltan Stoneworks was enlisted to repair construction damage in a newly built private $10 million home in McLean, VA. The newly installed marble in the 750 square foot foyer was badly scratched when crew members dragged heavy materials across the marble floor. At least 250 square feet of 18″ by 18″ Crema Marfil Marble tile needed to be repaired. The contractor contacted Zoltan Stone Works to urgently replace or restore the damaged area. After investigating the damage, it was considered faster and more cost effective to restore the elegant marble tiles than to replace them. We used a regular two step honing process and then polished the tiles to their original beauty.
