Are you getting ready to sell your home and realizing your natural stone floors need some love? Maybe you’re purchasing a home with a beautiful natural stone island but wish it was in a glossy finish instead of a matte finish. If so, you’re in luck! The real estate market is hot right now, and so is the restoration business!

We’ve recently gotten the chance to work with two different customers that are selling their homes and decided to restore their natural stone in the process.

In Georgetown, Washington DC, our customers realized their honed granite island and kitchen counters looked a little dull. Our team got called in to give them a polish and bring back their beautiful shine.

By using our handy dandy black dot vortex pads, we were able to use a variety of grits on this stone to hone it down, remove all damage, and polish it back to its former glory. Then, we finished with an enhanced sealer to protect it throughout the moving process and also to set the new owners up for success in the kitchen.

In Great Falls, VA  our customer selling their house hired us to convert their Carrera marble island from a honed finish to a high gloss finish to help the sale. While some people may think this is a difficult and involved process, we’d disagree! Something simple such as the finish of natural stone can really change the feel of a room!

For this, we used our tried and trusted four-step honing and polishing process before finishing with a very high gloss, 5X polishing powder to give the island a beautiful glossy finish.

With stone, there’s not much that can’t be done or can’t be remedied. We implore you to consider your options when buying or selling a home and seeing how the natural stone can fit your aesthetic!
