A customer was disappointed after receiving an italian countertop she ordered from a fabrication company, stone canada and realized the finish was completely wrong. She contacted Zoltan Stone Works to have this fixed and restored.

Zoltan Stone Works realized that the countertop the customer received was delivered with a finish that looked rather honed. A honed finished is one that the surface of the stone has been ground to a smooth, stone flat, consistent surface. For stones with a natural shine such as granite or marble, the polish or shine is removed leaving a matte (unpolished) surface with little to no reflection and no bumps or ridges, it tends to look rather porous.

In this particular residential home, the counter top seemed to have an “OG” edge, which made it somewhat challenging; however that was not a roadblock in restoring it.
Zoltan Stone works was able to restore the counter top through a polished finish which displays the vibrancy of the stone’s colors as well as the “character” of the stone.
